I really liked the boulder/rock scramble on our second day of the hike. Kayaking in Okarito was very cool too. Our guide was great, very enthusiastic and totally jazzed about nature/hiking. 7 months since ... and we are still talking about it
Hello, It's must be 7 months since myself and my boyfriend Jeremy did the West Coast Wilderness back in December 2003 and we are still talking about it. It was the best experience of our whole NZ trip and I have to say John our 'guru' guide made it the fantastic trip that it was!! John hope you still remember the PARISH!! My advice to anyone who's thinking about booking a trip is just do it now you won't regret it, you'll get to see the real NZ and have a great craic doing it (except for the attack of the sand-flies but you learn to love them too!).Sinéad Galvin - Ireland - signed on July 23, 2004

the wild west feb 2001 - i still have those adventures in fresh memory! it sure was a highlight!! the weather, the "family" and of course: stan the man! I am right now doing the west coast of sweden, not so much hiking, but kayaking, diving and camping in the archipelago. beautiful! you have to try it some time!!! clean water with great visibility, rich fauna and a comfortable bathing temperature of 22C. who could ask for anything more?Karin Anngård - Sweden - signed on July 31, 2002

I did the West Coast Wilderness trip over 18 months ago now and the trip has never left me, it was the most amazing trip of my life and I am counting down the days until I return to the Beautiful New Zealand. I will definitely be back in the future
Well I have returned from a great West Coast Wilderness Tour. We filled out the surveys, but I wanted to make sure you guys are aware of how great your tours are. From the moment we left Nelson, till the night after our tour in Queenstown, the trip was perfect. We had great weather, excellent people, and went to amazing places. We had a fantastic guide in Stan Van Unden, he was great fun, as well as very knowledgeable about the environment around us. We all felt very close at the end of the tour, because we had done some amazing things together. We saw people push past their comfort zones, and do things we never dreamed possible on this tour. Noel who couldn't swim did a deep river crossing on the "Inland Pack Track", it was fantastic. I met some great people, and I am still in contact with most of them now. I have had to return to work now, but the dream of coming and doing another tour in NZ keeps me working hard. This was the perfect holiday for me, I met great people, and saw the best scenery I have ever seen. The hotpools, snow capped mountains and beautiful stars at Welcome Flat were the best I have seen. Spent time with great people from all over the world. Thanks again to Stan and the rest of the group for making this such a great tour. Thank you also to Hiking New Zealand for making these trips possible, and providing us with a very well set up van and all the equipment. Never have I worked so hard and enjoyed myself so much
I did the West Coast in March with Stan and a great group of people from all over the world. Being the old man of the group didn't make a difference. NZ is so beautiful. I have shown my pictures to dozens of people. Never have I worked so hard and enjoyed myself so much. Keep up the good work. I would love to come back and stay longer. It's been a year since I took the 'West Coast Wilderness' safari. Since then there hasn't been a day that I did not think back to that great experience. I can still recall every minute and every step of the trip. When I came back I started a new carreer and have been busy ever since. It's been over a year and a half since I went on the West Coast Wilderness hike - I still get all sappy when I look at the photos I took.
