Highlights: Daily mountain walking in seven of the South Island's magnificent National Parks. An ambitious itinerary combining real walking, comfortable accommodation, and good food. It is a great trip with enough time to absorb the range of outdoor landscapes.

Day 1:
Arrive Nelson.

Days 2-6:
Nelson and Abel Tasman National Park. One day in Nelson and two days hiking the best sections of the 4 - day trail.

Days 7-10:
Paparoa National Park, West Coast and glaciers. Chance to see Fur Seals, then hiking through West Coast rainforest. Walk to the terminal face of the glacier or take one of the options to hikes onto the Glacier.

Day 11:
Mt Aspiring National Park and Wanaka. Take a thrilling jet boat ride into this National Park.

Days 12-14:
Fiordland National Park. Optional Hiking of the Milford Track. Walk part of the Kepler Track. Day walks off the Milford Road and stay the night on a motor-sailer in Milford Sound.

Days 15-17:
Fiordland National Park. Optional Hiking of the Milford Track. Chance to walk up Ben Lomond before having a well deserved rest day in this adventure capital.

Days 18-19:
Mt Cook National Park. Hike up to Sealey Tarns to get great views of Mt Sefton and Mt Cook

Days 20-21:
Mt Cook National Park. Stay on a high country sheep station. Quintessential New Zealand experience and a fine end to the trip.

Day 22:
Return to Christchurch.
