Highlights: The Queen Charlotte Track, located at the top of the South Island in the Marlborough Sounds is unique for its stunning coastal views, historical landmarks and wonderful variety of native bush and wildlife.
Day 1: Dolphin watch and eco-tour to Motiara Island on the way to Ship Cove and start of the Queen Charlotte Track. Gentle uphill walk ensures magnificent views to North Island and east coast of South Island. Arrive at Furneaux Lodge in Endeavour Inlet.
Day 2: Walk at shoreline level around the head of Endeavour Inlet to Punga Cove Resort. Magnificent bird calls and regenerating forest are features of the day.
Day 3: Panoramic views dominate as you walk the ridgeline to Portage Resort Hotel. Undulating hills today but worth the walk. optional water taxi transport available.
Day 4: Time to rest and relax for the day, or take a guided sea kayak trip.
Day 5: Ascend to ridgeline track providing last of the panoramic views before descending into native bush and a gently walk to the end of the track at Anakiwa. Water transport to Picton.
